What do you think about ads on Facebook that offer a bunch of "free" stuff if you buy other stuff? Like the Macbook Air ad that if you just buy something from 6 promo companies, you'll get the Macbook, an iphone, and an itunes card for free. Total cost? $500? Or more????
Well, I can tell you I've never done one of these promotions. In all honesty, I'm leary of them. I'm not sure I'm organized enough to keep track of all the steps you usually have to complete to qualify for the offer. I know I've seen a blog where a lady talks about all of the things she gets from these types of promotions. Unfortunately, now I can't find it. (Did I say I was going to actually answer this question? No? Oh, good....) I did come across this post from another blog. It's kind of old, but it's interesting. Some of the comments lead me to believe that perhaps this type of thing is against the TOS for some sites that have these kinds of promotions? I don't know that for certain. I find it mildly hard to believe. Anyway, follow those directions at your own risk. I have no idea if they work or not.
Ok, so I don't think I actually answered this. I think these types of things work for some people, but I've never done one, and I don't plan on it any time soon. If you do try one out, let me know how it goes!

My mom does similar promotions often and the generally work but they will charge your credit card (or debit card or whatever) if you don't remember to cancel the subscription after you get your free items. This is very similar to what J and I were reading about restaurant.com. I, personally, would never sign up for anything that wants me to give them my creditcard/debit number
